hai hello! this is my first unofficial entry for my newsletter! please bear with my unkempt writing style.
I've been out of school for a few weeks now but its taken me some time to really get back into the coding groove but now that I've begun, I really can't stop! Although, my schedule has been rather full lately and I still have other activites like hanging out with friends, chores, being with family, etc but I'll always make time for upkeeping Sprinkles.
I'd expect many more large updates as I've been conjuring up ideas for my website, including this newsletter which I'm particularily excited about.
My old updates section on my homepage (A tiny note on the left panel ;_;) was so hideous and unappealing to look at that I dedicated my first large update to creating this actual page only for updates and information on Sprinkles. I was really inspired by those cute newsletters and internet letters that used to float around where creatives update their audience on life, projects, etc and I thought I could put my own spin on it!
Enough about my own endeavors, here is the update overview,
freshening up homepage, fixing small errors, updating outdated code, etc etc

rewrote inaccurate information, removed "likes and dislikes" tab, replaced with smaller section, added s'more small widgets
I don't really have anything planned out besides the pages already in my navigation that I have yet to finish but I might add onto it if I do find some cool page that I think I'd want for myself!

Sprinkles came to be from an assortment of places. Some being games, music, others being shows and aesthetics. Each of these things added something unique to Sprinkles and while I can't list them all as that would go on forever, I can name quite a few!
Broad inspirations came from things I really enjoy such as,
You can read up on my interest in fashion on my about me page, but J-fashion has been some of my favorite for years. J-fashion magazines have this appeal where everywhere you look gives something back to you. The composition is so appealing and the fashion is only the best part. Some of my favorite magazines have to be the Gothic & Lolita Bible, FRUiTS, and while not a fashion magazine, JELLi MAGAZINE is still a standout for me!
I'd say the eye-catching visuals, bright graphics, and attention-holding composition from these magazines is something that I tried to carry into Sprinkles!

I began working on Sprinkles as a means to better my CSS and HTML, but to also create something that combines all of my favorite things: the internet, retro web design, maximalism, and cute stuff! I was basically writing a love letter for myself by creating Sprinkles. Another, more self pleasing reason is the pure admiration I had for other web developers with sick ass personal websites. My close friend Darla and I used to websurf neocities on our school chromebooks and we'd bond over the eye catching websites. I adored the idea that a few lines of code could make something mega cute so I finally put my foot down and googled "neocities for dummies." Those tutorials were what helped me reach the point I'm at with Sprinkles!

I love my homepage simply because I poured my heart and soul into her since it was the very first part of my website that I coded and "completed." (Completed as in was satisfied with for a time). I think it truly represents who I am inside with all of the graphic elements, fonts, colors, etc etc. I cherish my homepage so very much!!!
My about me is so dear to me cuz I also captured who I am and all of the things that make me, me! I also adore the composition and details I put into this page!!
I try to dust Sprinkles every day, making small tweaks and adjustments as I spot them.
New pages are added around twice a week during breaks from school, but when I'm attending school on a daily basis, even upkeep is rare. For now, medium sized updates like new pages can be expected as normal!
I've yet to overhaul or drop what I'd consider to be a "big update" so I'm not sure how often those may come but if I were to revamp Sprinkles, I'll make sure to take note of how often.
NOPE! The thought honestly saddens me, where my life becomes too full or I can no longer find energy to keep up with Sprinkles, and I'm not talking a hiatus like what happened recently, but a full stop where winzpir.neocities is deleted. The idea is depressing. So no, I don't ever plan on reaching an end with my Sprinkles journey. I'll keep updating her 'til the end of time, and if I were to finally retire from pushing out medium updates, I'll at least make sure to dust her up here and there. :)

When I tell you there is no greater joy than refreshing your page that you just finished coding and seeing the image you had created in your head on your computer screen.. I mean it. That feeling of, "Wow, I made this perfectly curated and perfectly ME space where I can do and say whatever comes to mind.." is unbeaten. It's a different type of freedom, something that Instagram, Tiktok, etc etc doesn't allow. Sure, one can post their cherry picked pics but there's no space to truly be yourself. No customization that only you can capture.
Personal websites are also, just personal. YOUR hands typed each line of code, YOUR eyes read each paragraph you type, this is YOUR website. Somewhere where you can show the deepest and truest parts of who you are. It doesn't matter what anyone else says, especially if there's no comment section for people to poke and prod at you. (Unless you add a cbox ofc but I'd argue indie web surfers aren't the ppl on insta sending death threats..)
