who are they?

Our friend group is a varied bunch of people who found each other in middle school and who grew around each other. We've become a family of sorts.

Cailin is the main link between all of us, she led us to find each other and really helped create this web of friends.

how did they meet?

We all met each other at different times but the common factor in our introduction was our middle school.

Most of us met individually in either 6th or 7th grade but only really started to band together in late 7th grade. By then, Cailin, Sandy, Oscar, and Viktor had already formed a group with some other kids. (4/12) It was only in march of our 7th grade year that Lucy, Melody, and I really started to hang out with them too. (7/12) I can remember, the first day I started to hang out with the group was on Oscar's birthday and everyone was making a candy salad in celebration of him. Lucy had just returned from her vacation to Vietnam and Melody began to wander to the area we sat in.

As 8th grade came around, we lost a couple friends but also gained some, including, Victor, Darla, Hadassah, Anthony, and James. (12/12)

And we've all been together since.

If the group was a song, what would it be?

In my personal opinion, we'd be a couple:

Anyone Else but You by The Moldy Peaches Fun fact: In 8th grade, I was teaching Oscar how to play this song on guitar near the end of the year and we were singing together to the kareoke version in our yearbook class with Viktor sitting beside us. The room was filled with 7th grade girls who were chatting but we didn't realize that they went silent as we sung. When we were finished, we heard everyone start to clap and we swiveled around to see a class of like 15 girls just applauding for our stupid kareoke version of Anyone Else but You holy shit it was embarassing.

We also sang and played this song on guitar during our annual end of the year picnic.

    • What's your favorite memory with the group?

    I have a lot but I think these are my top 3:

    Disco party in my room but we felt blasted and really emotional This happened like mid-December of 2025 and Cailin, Oscar, and Victor were in my room. Everyone else had already left from the hangout and it was just us 4 that remained. I told them about how when I was around 11, I got a cheap mini disco ball for my birthday and would always beg my parents and brother to have a dance party in my room but nobody ever did. Cailin just said, "Then let's have a dance party."

    I got the disco ball out from hiding and turned the lights off. "Time to Pretend" started playing and we got super hyped cuz it brought back the time when the Minecraft Movie just released and we'd hang out like every week. All of us got into a circle and started jumping around, laughing like a bunch of drunks. We eventually tired out and sprawled around my room, suddenly getting emotional one by one about how much we all mean to each other.
